Chat here in this thread about bands you've seen lately. Or, if you just can't help it, wax on about some band you saw ages ago.

I caught Nebula a few days ago. The best thing I've seen in a long time. I go to a lot of shows, and unfortunately the beer and company is often better entertainment than the bands, who kind of fade into an annpoying background noise...not this time! Nebula was solid. They don't put on much of a 'show', no stage antics, straight up stuff. Very talented musicians who don't need it.

Since they're still on tour I recommend checking them out if they pass thru yer hood.

They're playing the Albert in Winnipeg - one of the grossest venues in existence.

Skid row hotel - hope they have other places to sleep.

The Albert is awesome! It's grossness adds charm.

I'm there more often than I should admit. And I'll probably be there later tonight. Sadly, the place is going to close. For real, this time. The owner sold it. Nope, not just rumours. This time for real. I'm so let down.

Yeah, the band was packing up and leaving that place after. Not many bands stay there anymore...unless they are completely penniless.

When I was much younger and we had no choice we'd sleep with our clothes on and prop chairs against the doors, because all of the rummies had keys to the door and would try and sneak in at night. Oh, punk rock youth - where art thou now?

Not for nefarious reasons - they were also just trying to cop zzzs there as well.

Accidentally and without design happened to catch Detroit's Twistin' Tarantulas in some dive in Los Angeles when I lived out there. Their cover of Ace of Spades was on fire.

Going to go see this band The Black Math Experiment tonight. No idea how well known they are outside of here, but they had a minor local hit with "You Can't Kill David Arquette". Will report tomorrow...

Saw Turbonegro live on the 11th. Sounded great, venue was groovy. They played for a really long time and then did three encores. Great show, but didn't blow my mind.
Hank strutted around like a sexy beast shaking his fat and hairy belly. That was what I expected, yet the stage antics were kinda disappointing. Not much else to say. Good times getting squished, drunk and sweaty with yer clothes on. I wonder how many men pissed on the floor.

A good friend just saw them a day ago, and raved about it.

PS - say hi to Dominic!

I'm not sure if I've ever met him, don't go to the WECC much. Who do I say hi for, 'Mr. Zeb"?

I'd bet that we have a lot of mutual aquaintances. Which doesn't help Canuck stereotypes. "Hey, you're Canadian? do you know Robby and Sue from Kelowna?!"
