I'm not really into video games and the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on a damn console isn't exactly exciting to me. However, I recently purchased an Xbox 360 w/2 controllers and 6 games for what would be the equivilant of $130. I just couldn't pass up the deal. My roommate bought Halo 3 for it and ordered a subscription to Xbox Live. Now I'm addicted to that damn game. :lmao:
Anyone else play?

I just played it last night on a fucking 6 foot wide TV.
Even at that screen size the level of detail was fucking unreal.
The maps are enormous and beautifully rendered.
There are some major bugs in the multiplayer, though. Players on Social Slayer were disappearing, and rockets sometimes pass through players and objects.

The multiplayer version doesn't seem to be much enhanced graphically over the xbox versions. Its just another Halo.
The single-player has some better graphics.

So why is the game called "Halo," anyway? Doesn't seem like a very good name for an action game.

We just have some shitty 27" Mitsubishi. I'm planning on getting a 60" flat screen here in the next month or so.
When players disappear, it means they left the game. Rockets going through a player is probably due to that players internet connection. When the connection gets real slow that kind of stuff starts to happen. It's aggrevating as hell.

I didn't care for it, the graphics were gorgeous, but the gameplay wasn't innovative, and its very repetitive. Single player is encounter a lot of enemies, and kill them. Multiplayer is getting shot in the back and respawning.
Not for me.

Multiplayer shines when you have two televisions, two xbox 360s linked to one another, and eight people playing a single match. Then you shout and yell at your television like there's no tomorrow.

"Halo" is a gigantic space station shaped like a ring. There are actual ecosystems on the interior curve of the ring.
The storylines are surprisingly non-cheesy for a sci-fi video game.
