Just the other week I killed Bambi's mom- now it's time for dad...

Anybody else have a muzzleloader?

Hmm.
I have a Traditions Thunderbolt Blackpowder, that really needs to see a gun-smith.
Cap-lock, looks realistic, and easy to clean, but I stupidly jammed a cleaning rod into the barrel.
With a muzzleloader, you got to be close.

You think?
I've fired my friend's muzzleloader at the range and was able to hit targets at 100 yards accurately. This guy loads with 3 pellets of 777 for a flatter trajectory and extra range and claims he'd rather hunt with that than his shotgun with slugs.
That being said in the Northeast I doubt that I'll ever have to shoot more than 100 yards, more often than not it'll be 40-70 yards with the woods and underbrush.
FWIW it's worth I got it for 350.00 with a no brand scope, mounted and bore sighted.

Yeah, that's a good deal, and if you're using sabots, you can get good range and accuracy.
I myself like the old-fashioned cap and ball part, being into the whole "buckskinning" thing.

I don't have one but my step-brother hunts with a muzzle loader during the season, not sure which kind he uses.
