I thought 3 was the best so far, have you played it at the diety level yet? I've tried and on a huge map with many Civs its impossible. I have done ok on a huge map with a few Civs to compete against.

If you like Civ you'd like Caesar too, less emphasis on military but the game play is superior.

I play it on the third difficulty from the bottom. I don't want to bruise my fragile ego as barbarians and nations come to rape me in every corner. I thought 3 was better than 4, sadly. BUT 4 was far more easily modifiable and hence, great mods were made for it.

If you like Civ you'd like Caesar too, less emphasis on military but the game play is superior.

I'm a big fan of Armed Assault, which is the successor to Operation Flashpoint (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Flashpoint:_Cold_War_Crisis).

These games aren't the flashiest, but they're so realistic that many militaries have even adopted versions of them for training (Virtual Battlefield Systems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VBS1)). You actually have to compensate for things like bullet drop and delay when shooting over distances; weapon recoil throws your aim off with each shot; a single hit from a bullet can kill you outright, prevent you from walking, make aiming your weapon difficult, depending on where it hits you; and so on. You can also create your own missions and make certain elements, such as locations and numbers of enemy troops, vary randomly.

These games are definitely worth checking out. I bought and downloaded Armed Assault online, though the download naturally took long as hell.

The game is fantastic overall. I like it even more than Bioshock. The voice acting, the interactive cut scenes, the story, and the characters were all very creatively done. I think this is my favorite 360 game.

There were two things in the game that didn't make sense to me. First, all of the different alien species you encounter speak English. Doesn't that suggest that humans (Anglo-Saxons) are the most powerful species? But the storyline has humans playing second fiddle to several of the alien species and trying to ingratiate themselves to the Counsel.

It was never explained why the different alien species speak English, but it's one of the first things the player notices about them.

Another thing I didn't understand is why the Asari have caucasian feminine features. Presumably those features evolved to attract caucasian males (who didn't exist on their planet), but one of your crew members explains that they can reproduce with any species or gender - in fact, that they prefer to mate with different species because it makes them stronger. I didn't like part of the game where the Asari mating strategy was explained since it was an endorsement of miscegenation.

I agree, the Wii is fun and addictive. I think most of it's releases are tailored to suit the wireless remote. But the mario games, for example, that require standard controls, make use of the joystick attachment that comes with the remote.

When I play GTA I'm a dumb nigger who shoots other dumb niggers, can't see any problem with that. What I find great about GTA is the immense world where you can move aroung freely. And to create action in such a game you need to use criminality, however I'm still waiting for the first GTA-like wargame. Just imagine how awesome that will be... An immense world where a war is going on and you play as a civilian who can side with one of the armies or with a local militia or so. Damn, why don't they invent such games.

And what about GTA Jerusalem? You can play a Palestinian who's parents died in an Israeli bombardment or so. And then you can join Hamas or Fatah or so and carry out missions against rival factions and the Israelis of course. In GTA3 for instance you get also shot at even when you drive by in a car by rival gang members like the maffia or the cartel... And these very poor people don't have weapons, only rebels do, and since the character is always heavily armed the people will run rather than fight him.

I saved some money and I bought one game for the full price and one for a cheap price.

I bought Soldier of Fortune: Payback for the full price (€ 40) and I must say that I was very disappointed. I brought it back to the store and I exchanged it for Unreal Tournament III instead. I thought I had to pay 15 euros extra because the tag under the game stated that the price is (€ 55). It went down with € 25. They couldn't give me ten euros back, so I had to choose a second game for ten euros or more. I took Halo 2 for 15 euros, so I only had to pay five euros extra. The best part is that I still have SOF3 on my computer and I just need to wait for a crack to be released so that I can keep the game aswell. Three games for the price of two. Nice.

The other game I bought was Age of Empires 3. Awesome game. I'm fighting against the camelfucking Ottomans with the Dutch empire.

There have been many Ultima games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima) made. The older ones are usually directly downloadable through abandonware sites. It's amazing that such great games were crammed in 100k or so.

There is a best order for your inventions to win the space race in Civ4, I'll try to look it up and post it here. Avoid war at all costs, build a strong defensive army, and exchange inventions with weak players. If you start in Arctic territory, or if you are locked up in a small area, you can't win.

Lately, all I have time to play is Brain Age 2 on my DS. I've been wishing for time to play my copy of Harvest Moon for the DS.

I loved the Harvest Moon serie on my Gameboy Advance, but the one on the DS is too much of the same. Glad I don't need to buy games anymore since I have this special DS card of 2 Gb that allows you to download games off the internet and play it on that one single card. I went to the Free Record Shop yesterday. Bought AoE3 with the War Chiefs expansion. I also bought the old school Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 game for 5 Euros or so. The only problem is that my rollercoaster are always to damn extreme, fucking pussies.

you can download Steam and register your half life code through them. You should be able to play half life at that point. They'll also give you the option, free, to download counter strike and some other mods. I think they even give you the expansions with your half life key.

I just finished Fallout 3. Fantastic game. I managed to get the good ending. Unfortunately, after that, the game stops. I wish I would have been able to explore the rest of the game, just like Oblivion. But I can recommend it to everyone. I had many hours of good fun. I was playing Fallout 3 on my 360, which broke the day before Gears of War 2 came out. I fucking love the lowest bidder method of production.

Haha, I've had two 360s die on me. Fuck that shit, and fuck Bethesda Softworks. I loved Morrowind and I liked Oblivion at first, but then I played Dark Messiah and realized just how crappy Oblivion really was. I played through both of the original Fallout games at least 12 times, but I lost interest in Fallout 3 when I realized it was just going to be Oblivion with guns.

The only thing I play now is the Wii and I love it. I have a laptop with Vista, but I hate this OS so I'm going to refurbish my home PC and just play old shit on it, because it's all better than anything that will come out for fucking Vista.

I'm playing ZOMBIE PANIC still which is a HL2 mod, been trying a mod for COH called "KMOD" http://www.kmod.org/ its a year old but i never heard of it on its release its rather hard but alot better than the normal game. I also play whatever big new game comes out courtesy of bittorrent, although at 14GB GTA4 is too big for that so its my Christmas present from my uncle :D.

Looking forward to Empire:Total War and DOW2 next year.

This game is great. It's so awsome how you fight these giant beasts and the wind is blowing your off of them while you climb up on their fur and they are like the size of dinosaurs. It reminds me of flame warfare on forums with the mod panel being the wind blowing me off.

I mean the texture resolutions aren't very high but they used an awsome blur effect so that it looks great, even though it is being rendered on the PS2 which is not only a last gen console, but a weaker one gpu/cpu wise than its competitors.

I just beat hydrus. That was the best fight yet, where you get dragged underwater and have to run across its back while its trying to electrocute you.

Yes, the water one was amazing. I liked the bird one, simply because I like birds. The final one was exciting, though the difficultly was disappointing as it was whether quick to get into a pattern in that of which it was easy to defeat at a rate quicker than some of the others.

I bought Shadow of Colossus in 2007, that was a great game, the best PS2 game i've played, it still sticks with me. Great soundtrack, the fights weren't necessarily hard, but they are awe inspiring and just cinematic to watch. I hope the creators do another game, they are really meticulous, they spent years working on that, and its prequel and most likely will do the same for the third game.

the most difficult one i believe was the one you fight in a sort of arena which was slightly smaller than the others and climbs walls, and the warthog type ones who were small but very fast. the fish one was easy, and the bird was great to watch but also quite easy. that giant sand snake that the game's noted for was also easy once you can get on it.
