so is anyone running this?, i'm bored with xp and looking at all the DX10 games coming out soon its tempting to upgrade, theres also a major gaming orientated update coming out early next year, http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=82435.
probably get home premium oem its £60, its ultimate except for 3 things and one of them the "dreamscene" thing you can get a crack for, http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13105

I have a personal rule of never replacing anything until it unrepairably breaks down, so no VISTA for me.

Although I went over from Windoze 98 to Windoze XP 2 years ago because the file exchange couldn't run well anymore. So I downloaded a torrent of Windoze XP.

What he said. Not installing it (as my primary OS, that is) before 2008.

I've been running Vista since May 2006 on my 2nd HD (starting with Beta 2).

I'll be running Windows XP for another 2 years because I can't afford another computer. I'm already on my spare computer. I wanted to update but everyone talked me out of it on the SE.

i'm going to be the guinea pig as it was ordered today :p, it seems i'm getting it free as my good dad put it on his company along with some bits he ordered, at least i'm not losing any money now.
surprised to hear noone has anything positive to say about it as from what ive been been reading its nearly equal to XP in gaming performance and is basically stable, the only thing ive seen gripes about before were hardware drivers but both creative and nvidia have decent ones out now.

lol
Please name one company that's for "white men"!
Anyway, I'm not smart enough to use Linux or even other Linux-based system designed to be a bridge to Linux. I know Linux has programs similar to that of Windows but it's still too different for me. Everything is compatible with Mac or Windows systems and even Macs and Windows have their differences. For example, I'd have to learn all new key shortcuts on a Mac for Photoshop and there are a lot of shortcuts. I'm too lazy to learn something the first time around - I'm definitely not going to learn it twice!

I'll switch to Vista when I get to the point where I'll be screwed if I don't, and not a moment sooner (and likely a few months later, actually).

Nonsense. As a real geek, you're supposed to mindlessly bash Micro$oft.

What do you mean - DX10?

i'm too lazy to get pics to compare them, but in WIC on vista you get sun rays, better reflections, moving cloud shadows on the ground..

I'm still on a 2.8 P4. Need to upgrade before I even buy BioShock (System Shock 2 won't run so well without bugs so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place)
