Beethoven's last movement: Composer creates song based on DNA from hair clippings that survived Auschwitz hidden inside prisoner's body http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...-Sothebys.html By Rob Waugh 14th February 2012 German composer Beethoven has produced another masterpiece, almost two hundred years after his death in 1827. A Scottish composer has written a score based on Beethoven's DNA from the composer's hair clippings. The hair was passed down through the generations - and even survived Auschwitz, being hidden from guards inside a prisoner's bottom. The composers used a sample of Beethoven's DNA to create a 'graph' which formed the basis of the music. The musicians added lyrics from a love letter by Beethoven. Musician Martin Aelred said 'It’s been an amazing project to be involved with and to basically produce a new composition by Ludwig van Beethoven almost 200 years after he died.' 'It’s amazing to think that all this was made possible because the strand of hair was hidden up someone’s bottom at Auschwitz. If the guards had found it, they would almost certainly have destroyed it.' After the camp was liberated at the end of the war, the prisoner retrieved the hair and it was eventually sold at Sotheby’s in 2009. . |

I'm sitting in front of my computer, speechless and waving my arms. All of these fantastical holo stories and people go to jail for not believing them?

Goodness, that story beats the one about the prisoner who swallowed the diamonds and plucked them out of her feces on a daily basis.
I'm waiting to see one of these crafty survivors pull a 'lost' painting by one of the masters out of their arse. |
