Default u won't center the buck blast on the man

the reason that I KNOW this (other than fluke luck) is if you were going to carefully center the target and control the trigger, you'd be using a rifle, not taking the horrible handicaps assessed by having only a shotgun. So the buck blast's range is even MORE foreshortened than I have said in the past. 20 yds, or less, to reliably get enough buck pellets into the vitals to reasonably expect to stop the man, with an unchoked riot gun. that is easy snapshooting distance for head shots with a silenced .22 rifle, which can do MANY things better than the shotgun can.

Yeah, the shotgun isn't for pinpoint accuracy. It DOES have it's uses, and it's versatility is one of its greatest strengths. Using one gun to take doves, rabbits, turkey, deer, coyotes, and to stop human attackers? A good shotgun is a nice thing to have, once a person gets past all of the ridiculous myths about them. Shotguns must be aimed. Firing a shotgun down a hallway will NOT magically take out everything in the hallway.

Default time & $ spent on shotgun can't be spent on a 1911.

or Ar-15, or anything else. we all have to choose what we spend our time and $ on, and nobody has to hunt, much less with a shotgun. I've taken far more game with ccw pistols than I (or virtually anyone else) ever took in season, with a shotgun. I drove the backroads, year rd, often at night, used earmuffs, braced the pistol on the car, etc. A .22 rifle can take all those critters,a nd a used Marlin Glenfield auto, from a private seller in your local newspaper, is but $50.

Animals are better trapped than hunted, if you really DO "need the meat". You can set up gill nets, trotlines, fish traps, snares, box traps, in a 4 leaf clover thing, so that you get back to "base" 4x a day, and you can have 40 such things going for you. that WILL yield you flesh food to eat, you know. Hunting is mostly a waste of calories and time. Sure, as you 'tend" your traps and nets, you keep your M4 and its .22 unit handy, in CASE you see something worth a short stalk and shot. but you do so only in the direction you have to go anyway, to tend your traps and nets. Understand?

YOu just ASSUME a lot of things are necessary/valuable/should be done that way, when it's not really so.

Old guys like me were raised watching Gene Autrey and a host of other cowboy heroes take out the bad guy from the back of a horse at a full run and ol' Gene throwin those bullets, never missing his target and sometimes just shooting the gun from the bad guys hand! You know, that wrist snap thing that would never work but looks cool on the talmudvisionset? Sorta like niggers leaning their stolen pistol at a 90 degree angle. Looks cool to fellow spoonbills but in reality is likely responsible for most of the innocents being hit, if there is such a thing as an innocent nigger.

Default the shotgun's noise, limited range, limited penetration

makes it far, far inferior for most uses. The silenced .22 autorifle is a much better foraging tool for shtf, for sure. The lack of a flashhider and silencer (that WORK) for shotguns is a deal killer, for shtf, if you've got any sense.

For shtf, you've GOTTA have a silenced .22 and a fighting rifle (preferably also suppressed). and a powerful pistol, for when you are in your sleeping bag, driving a car, crawling tunnels or thick brush, or climbing ladders, trees, cliffs, etc.
So, if you have both a centerfire pistol AND a silenced .22 pistol, AND a 30 cal rifle, and a backpack and body armor, WHERE you gonna put the shotgun? If it's NOT shtf, hunting is just for sport. I sport hunt with the ccw pistol, so that I KNOW what my loads do on flesh and blood, mostly.

Since it's just for sport, it doesn't MATTER if you score or not, or if you go hunting or not. If you "need" the meat, you'd be using nets, snares, traps, trotlines, bait, jacklighting, etc, taking all the game you could, females, etc, all year long. but you DON'T do those things, so you DON'T need the meat. So it IS just for sport, understand? Therefore it doesn't matter that using the ccw pistol means you don't score very often, and you need to be a very superior shottist and hunter to score at all.

That is a good thing, everyone ought to be allowed to hunt ONLY with the ccw pistol. then some very desirable things would happen. There'd be a LOT more game :-) The seaons would be much longer, bag limites would be higher, it'd be legal to hunt with pistols, in every state. There'd be no claims that handguns are just for shooting people. There'd be a lot more research done on loads that actually DO work in flesh, but work in a ccw pistol. there'd be more accurate, powerful ccw pistols, too! There'd be a LOT less hunters, tho. :-) The slobs would never even bother to try it.
